Each month we publish blogs
and several newsletters
full of digital learning, funding, professional growth, social media, and STEM resources. Below are items from our blogs and newsletters that educators turned to the most in October.
Every year I have one or two students who are given the opportunity to go on an amazing adventure with their family during the school year. As their teacher, I love the opportunities this gives students. I fully support any chance students have to see more of the world. However, I do not want to create busy work for them to do while they are gone. I want their time doing schoolwork to be as meaningful as their time in my classroom.
To connect or not to connect? That is the question. Actually, it’s not a question. Connection is an important aspect of every elementary classroom.
MERGE Cube and MERGE Goggles are powerful learning tools that help students visualize and understand abstract concepts by giving them memorable, authentic, and tactile learning experiences using virtual and augmented reality technology.
Touch Press’s Ink Blott Underground app for iOS is an engaging English language arts game for middle school students in which players dig through a series of crystal-filled caves and bring their vivid world back to life by using word parts to fix broken words and sentences. The game educates students on prefixes and suffixes in relation to root words.
Checkology virtual classroom is an immersive online learning hub where students in grades 6—12 can hone their critical thinking skills to become and stay informed. The virtual classroom’s lessons help educators equip their students with tools to evaluate and interpret the news and learn how to determine what news and other information to trust, share, and act on.
