“Understanding and Supporting Student-led Activism” is a free, self-paced online course focused on understanding students’ social justice motivations and helping young people engage in civic improvement activities. The course is part of Youth in Front, a project and collection of resources for student activists and supporters launched by Learning for Justice, with support from Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, after the 2018 mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas School. The course explores past youth-led pushes for change and provides tools and resources (including information on legal considerations and other practicalities), as well as strategies for teaching about local justice issues. A facilitator’s guide is available on the Learning for Justice website.
