AI for Educators is a readable, relatable book about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the classroom—today and in the future. Teachers will find hope in this book—hope that AI is not all about cheating, hope that AI can save them time and empower them to do more, hope that all is not lost.
The book includes eight chapters:
Chapter 1: “Welcome to the AI Revolution”—What is unique about AI and ChatGPT—and what does it mean for teachers and students?
Chapter 2: “Imagining the AI-Integrated Classroom”—What is the real and, in some ways, immediate impact of AI on education?
Chapter 3: “Shifting to Accommodate a World with AI”—What quick changes can we make right now to adjust to AI?
Chapter 4: “30 Ways AI Can Support Teaching and Learning”—How can AI support teaching, learning, lesson planning, and teacher productivity?
Chapter 5: “What Are Cheating and Plagiarism Anymore?”—What are some new ways of looking at this big question?
Chapter 6: “Acting Responsibly in an AI-Integrated World”—What questions should we be asking about AI? How can we act ethically to avoid creating a dystopian novel?
Chapter 7: “Preparing Students for an AI-Integrated World”—What does the future world look like with AI in it? And how do we get students ready?
Chapter 8: “Taking Bold Steps Toward the Future”—What are the implications for education? What do we do now?
