The Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, comprises five smaller museums, each covering a facet of the American West: Draper National History Museum, Plains Indian Museum, Buffalo Bill Museum, Whitney Western Art Museum, and Cody Firearms Museum.
Teachers and students can visit these museums by signing up for one of the center’s free interactive virtual field trips. Students can go on a journey that will uncover the wonders of Yellowstone, the adventurous lives of mountain men, the rich cultures of Plains Indians, and more. The museum can also come to a classroom (for no cost) through Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, Teams, or any other videoconferencing platform. Teachers are encouraged to visit the center and check out the lessons and information about each museum.
