With Hello History, students can immerse themselves in the minds of some of the most influential historical figures and gain new insights and perspectives on life, history, and the world with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) chat.
This new iPhone and Android app from FACING IT International lets users have one-on-one conversations with historical figures, ranging from pop culture icons to artists, politicians, and civil rights activists. The app uses an AI tool similar to ChatGPT.
Users start a chat by selecting a person from a list of more than 400 historical figures, including Elvis Presley and John Lennon, Leonardo da Vinci and Frida Kahlo, Shakespeare and Cleopatra, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, Martin Luther King Jr. … and others. The historical person will then show a brief message about him- or herself. The app user can reply to that message with a question. Then, through the use of AI, the person will respond. Users can continue “talking” with the historical figure as long as they wish, provided the conversation stays on topic and within the realm of the AI’s reach. Educators can have control over the content and information.
