A team of educators and psychologists at the Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) have collaborated to translate the latest behavioral science research into resources for teachers to use in the classroom so that dialogue can lead to holistic student learning and healthy classroom culture.
This fall CDI is offering a free professional development workshop series for high school educators. Teachers will gain actionable strategies and techniques to foster healthy dialogue among students so that contentious topics feel easier to teach and discuss. Additionally, teachers can interact with peers from across the country facing the same challenges while exploring ideas and solutions.
Teachers can choose sessions from a list of flexible dates between September 20, 2022, and December 15, 2022. Session 1 will help teachers prepare for constructive dialogue. Session 2 will address ways to support a constructive dialogue classroom. Session 3 will suggest ways to support students to engage in constructive dialogue. And Session 4 will present ideas for intervening in high-pressure moments.
