Noah Text is specialized scaffolded text that allows readers to see sound parts within words, providing a way for struggling readers to decode and enunciate words that are difficult to access. The text highlights syllables and long-vowel words while keeping words intact. In turn, the improvement in reading accuracy and fluency frees up cognitive resources readers can devote to comprehending the meaning of the text, enabling them to enjoy reading while building reading skill.
With the free StrongReader Builder conversion tool, students and teachers can convert pasted text from any device into Noah Text, as well as convert Word documents, reading passages, articles and reports from the web, worksheets, tests and quizzes … anything they want to differentiate and individualize.
Teachers can see the tool in action by typing or copying some text into the field on the website and then clicking or tapping “Convert.” To unlock larger conversions, they can sign up for a free account.
Additional software utilizing Noah Text was also developed in collaboration with New Century Education Foundation, Noah Text, and researchers at Michigan State University. The software provides an online chapter book based reading intervention for students with dyslexia.
