A product of the virtual reality and immersive media production company Be More Colorful, CareerViewXR (CVXR) helps students get an understanding of various industries to make informed career choices.
With CareerViewXR, educators can take students places they never thought possible. From the top of a wind turbine to the inside of a police squad car, CareerViewXR brings job tours to the classroom with engaging, accessible experiences for all grades. Here’s how it works:
The CVXR platform hosts a growing catalog of web-based virtual tour experiences to explore using devices students already have. Teachers or students can log in using a simple access code on a laptop, smartphone, tablet, or other web-enabled device to begin the adventure. Viewers can then navigate through a day in the life of a specific career professional or get a glimpse into an entire workplace, seeing multiple different career opportunities along the way. Each web-based tour is paired with a virtual reality (VR) video that can be viewed on virtual reality headsets. Although a VR headset provides an incredible experience, it is optional for the CVXR platform. A short tutorial shows how easy using CVXR is.
More than 100 experiences in the CareerViewXR content library showcase healthcare, skilled trades, manufacturing, energy, and other in-demand industries. A few examples include Wind Turbine Technician, Dental Hygienist, Electrician, and Respiratory Therapist. The company is working to produce more field-trip experiences to continue inspiring jobseekers everywhere.
CVXR experiences can be used for more than career exploration, however. For example, a math teacher can use the Wind Turbine Technician experience to have students solve the angle between the blades. In the future, the company intends to create sample lesson plans for coursework that leans into math, science, technology, and other topics to supplement the tour experiences.
