Every student has the potential to succeed, but many feel disconnected from their learning. This disconnect shows up in many of the challenges we see in today’s schools: chronic absenteeism, lower engagement, growing mental health concerns, and a lack of preparedness for college, career, and life.
Wayfinder prepares students for what’s next with six research-backed Core Skills that connect classroom learning to the future-ready skills needed to succeed in the real world: self-awareness, adaptability, empathy, collaboration, agency, purpose. Founded at Stanford d.school, Wayfinder uses the latest adolescent research from leaders in the field; human-centered design is at the core.
K–12 educators can explore Wayfinder’s 21st Century Skills Curriculum, with activities and lessons that help students navigate their path and build skills for success in the future. Sample content includes four lessons (one per grade band); four activities (one per grade band), three student-facing activity videos, and easy-to-use guides.
Educators are also invited to sample Wayfinder’s Mental Health for Athletes Collection, with first-of-its-kind content designed to uplevel mental stamina for student athletes and their coaches. Curated by experts, these activities and lessons dive into intentionality, communication, and performance to help student athletes develop skills for holistic success in sports, academics, and beyond.
Students work through essential skills such as preparing mentally for a big competition; using nerves to their advantage; bouncing back from tough losses; conquering their inner critic; strengthening communication and leadership; staying mentally connected, even when injured; and performing at their best with rest, breathwork, and visualization.
And to help young athletes build strong mental foundations for success on the field and in the classroom, educators can try two free activities and one full lesson sample from Wayfinder’s Activity Library.
