Exploring Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Literacy Learning

The conversation around artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved quickly. So have the questions educators are asking. As AI and digital technologies reshape how young people learn and create, educators have an opportunity to revisit and reimagine what literacy looks like today.

Join the International Literacy Association (ILA)’s webinar “AI and the Future of Literacy Learning” from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (ET). on August 27, 2026, for insight into how students are using artificial intelligence, as well as practical ideas for supporting them as they (and you) navigate a rapidly changing landscape.

The presenters, Dr. Ty Hollett and Dr. Bradley Robinson, will explore how AI is influencing the way students read, write, and learn, as well as the questions educators should be asking as AI becomes more deeply embedded in everyday instruction.

Dr. Hollett is Associate Professor of Learning, Design, and Technology at Penn State University Park. His work explores how people learn through everyday experiences, with a focus on informal learning, digital media, play, and family life. Dr. Robinson is Associate Professor of Educational Technology and Secondary Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University.

The webinar is intended for classroom teachers, reading specialists, literacy/instructional coaches, principals/administrators, and higher education faculty. The registration rate is $29.00 for ILA members; $69.00 for nonmembers (includes annual ILA membership). Registration provides access to both the live event and the on-demand recording, which will be available through February 27, 2027.
