Children and Screens: Impact of Digital Media on Youth

User- and AI-generated internet content is produced every day in staggeringly large amounts—with an accompanying increase in access and exposure to misleading and false information. Are children more susceptible to misinformation and disinformation online than adults? An expert-backed Tip Sheet, titled “Online Misinformation, Disinformation and Youth,” provides helpful suggestions and actionable steps for parents and educators to assist children in developing the skills to decipher whether content they see online is credible, false, or even intentionally misleading.
