Join the financial literacy movement! Intuit is challenging middle school and high school educators nationwide to bring one hour of financial literacy into the classroom.
Intuit has partnered with Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) to provide two free plug-and-play activities that engage students in grades 6–12 with the core concepts of personal finance. The activities can be completed in 60 minutes of less, and no preparation is required.
To participate in the Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge, simply register online and then select the activity that works best for your students’ needs:
- Intuit’s Credit Climber activity helps students explore the compounded impact that micro money decisions have on their credit score and financial goals. As they mentor a friend through real-world scenarios, students experience the risk and reward of utilizing credit, while learning about concepts such as debt and interest.
- NGPF’s Money Magic activity allows students to apply fundamental budgeting principles as they guide Magician Enzo’s financial decisions. Students practice building and adjusting a budget, weighing tradeoffs, and managing spending versus saving as they balance short-term choices with long-term goals.
The Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge runs through April 15. You can use the Impact Tracker to check your school’s progress and see how you’re contributing to the nationwide financial literacy movement. You can also expand the movement by inviting your fellow educators to participate. Schools with multiple educators participating will be eligible for awards, including badges, trophies, banners, and cash awards for school supplies.
